Half-an-hour boat ride from the harbor in Puerto Rico and you are in the lovely village of Puerto de Mogan.
Puerto de Mogan is an old fishing village south of Puerto Rico.In the 1970`s the village had a major change and modernization. The architecture is 100% Spanish with white houses and small and narrow streets decorated with flowers. Here you will find many small restaurants with fresh fish from Mogan, nice shops and a small sandy beach just beside the promenade.
Every Friday this small village is crowded with tourists visiting the local market which is extremely popular. You find everything from sunglasses to handcrafts, local spices and jewelry.
This small village has no buildings taller than 2 floors, except from the "Tower" where you find the "Marina`s" offices. Because this still is a fishing village, you'll see lots of colorful boats and you can observe the everyday life of the fishermen fixing their nets on the harbour.
Here you can also go sailing with the YELLOW SUBMARINE which is a popular tourist attraction, or go on a dolphin safari and go snorkling. Often these safariboats also bring with them some fresh tuna which they prepare for you as a tasty lunch while you're onboard.
We also recommend you to visit the restaurant ORILLAS DEL MAR where you will be welcomed by ANTONIO,the owner and best singer and guitar player in the village. You find many family-owned restaurants in Puerto Mogan, and Orillas del Mar is one of them.
